How to Make a Difference

Our success at SPIRITT Family Services is made possible by the ongoing support of people like you. Your generous gift is a tax-deductible donation, which will allow us to direct funds where they are most urgently needed; counseling families, providing families food and shelter, assisting people with disabilities, empowering survivors of violence...and so much more. Donations can be designated for support of a particular SPIRITT program or project. No amount is too small to make a big difference.

"I learned more than anything that family is very important and the attention we give our children. How important it is to talk to our children, play with them, eat with them and understand them. It is important to fulfill their needs, prepare them for school, and be very patient with them."

Major Gifts & Planned Giving

Donations over $5,000 are considered major gifts and are essential to our long-term success and ability to serve those in need-now and for years to come. Major gifts can be made in support of our facilities, programs, or services.

Planned Giving

SPIRITT Family Services can help you choose from a portfolio of options that will meet your long term financial, tax and estate planning objectives, while continuing to support families in need. Choose from one of the many planned giving options including charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and bequests.

Real Estate

You can deed real property to SPIRITT Family Services, in whole or in part, to benefit our agency. You can also deed a home to SPIRITT Family Services—receive a sizable, personal tax deduction, yet still occupy your home for life.

Private Foundations

Grants from these foundations support all of our services, through programs that reach children, families and individuals each year. Grants can be given for general operating support or can be designated for support of a particular SPIRITT program or project.

Corporate Giving

Supporting people in need is an investment worth making. SPIRITT Family Services professionals are available to assist corporations of all types, sizes and industries in structuring collaborations with our agency, in order meet the strategic goals of all participants. Businesses have partnered with SPIRITT Family Services in the past through philanthropic support, sponsoring an event or donating products and services.

Scholarships

Through the support from our community, SPIRITT Family Services has awarded numerous scholarships to high school students with ambitions to continuing their education at a collegiate level. Scholarships are given based on GPA, essay, and recommendations. For over a decade, SPIRITT annual youth empowerment conferences-including MOSAIC, CLARO, and Serena-have enhanced positive role modeling, peer support, and social skills. Youth are mentored with an emphasis on higher education/career development and self-esteem to reduce risk of involvement with juvenile justice system.

Adopt-A-Family

The SPIRITT Family Services Adopt-A-Family program provides families in need with gifts during the December holiday season. Individuals or groups (office team, family members, or friends) may work together to help others who are less fortunate. Interested donors will receive a family wish list from a family in need, as well as drop off information at one of our SPIRITT Family Centers. Please note that the items families request are based on needs and not wants. Gift cards to grocery stores and to Target/Walmart are greatly appreciated.

School is Cool

School is Cool is an annual event aimed at preparing children of all ages, who live below the poverty level, to start the school year with the tools they need to feel competent, motivated and proud to attend school. This includes backpacks and basic school supplies such as composition books, highlighter pens, pencils, binders, notebook paper, pencil sharpeners, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, pocket folders, pens, crayons, rulers, socks, shoes, and uniforms. We accept anything!!!
