How to Make a Difference

Our success at SPIRITT Family Services is made possible by the ongoing support of people like you. Your generous gift is a tax-deductible donation, which will allow us to direct funds where they are most urgently needed; it will help counsel families, reduce homeless, feed the hungry, assist people with disabilities, empower survivors of violence...and so much more.

"I learned more than anything that family is very important and the attention we give our children. How important it is to talk to our children, play with them, eat with them and understand them. Also, it's important to fulfill their needs, prepare them for school, and be very patient with them."

These annual youth empowerment conferences are designed to enhance positive role modeling, peer support, and social skills. Through collaboration with community partnerships, the program seeks to minimize educational, economic, environmental, and developmental disparities. Youth are mentored with an emphasis on higher education/career development and self-esteem to reduce risk of involvement with juvenile justice system.

Adopt-A-Family

The SPIRITT Family Services Adopt-A-Family program provides families in need with gifts during the December holiday season. In 2010, the SPIRITT Family programs served over 100 families in need of holiday gifts and food. Unfortunately, there are many more families in our community who will not have presents to give their children and family dinner during the holiday season, we hope through the generosity of our donors these families will be serve this upcoming holiday season.

This is a great opportunity for an individual or a group of people (office team, family members, or a group of friends) to work together to help others who are less fortunate.

Interested donors will receive a vignette of a family and the wish list from a family in need, as well as the information as to the dates for dropping off the gifts to one of our SPIRITT Family Services locations in your area.

Please note that the items our families request are all based on needs and not wants. Gift cards to grocery stores and to Target/Walmart are greatly appreciated.
